Pumpkin Biscuits

Ingredients

1 3/4 cups of flour

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1 stick of unsalted butter

3/4 cup pumpkin

1/3 cup buttermilk

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 425

2. Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda together. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3. In a small bowl, stir together the pumpkin and the buttermilk and add to the crumb mixture and stir just until moistened.

4. Put dough onto a lightly floured surface, knead 8 to 10 times adding flour here and there if needed. Pat or roll out to 1 inch thickness, cut with a biscuit cutter or a glass. Place biscuits 1 inch apart on a greased baking sheet or with a lined baking sheet.

5. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes or until golden brown. Melt butter on top and serve warm. Amazing with a drizzle of honey!
