Kentucky Butter Cake





Y'all! If you never had a Kentucky Butter Cake... Lord have mercy, bless your heart! As the name suggests, this cake is buttery and sweet. Coated in a buttery glaze that soaks in and makes the cake moist for days.



Ingredients


Cake:

1 cup of butter

2 cups of sugar

4 eggs

1 tablespoon of vanilla (or rum abstract)

3 cups of flour

1 teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of baking powder

1/2 teaspoon of baking soda

1 cup of buttermilk


Butter Glaze:

1/3 cup of butter

3/4 cup of sugar

2 tablespoons of water

2 teaspoons of vanilla



Directions


1) Preheat oven to 325 and grease bunt pan with butter generously (not spray kind!)


2) Put all ingredients for the cake into stand mixer bowl and mix together for three minutes. Then pour batter into the prepared pan.


3) Bake for 65 minuets


4) Make the glaze when the cake comes out by putting all ingredients in a sauce pan over medium heat. Stir until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved.


5) Poke holes all over the warm cake then pour the sauce over the cake while its still in the pan.


7) Allow the cake to cool completely then take the cake out. Enjoy!
