While it's considered a sin to put sugar in your cornbread in the South, we all have to admit sweet cornbread is still delicious regardless. Sweet or unsweet they both have their place in the kitchen. This recipe is perfect with a dab of butter and a drizzle of honey.
Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
4 eggs
3/4 cup melted butter
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
Preheat oven to 350. Add some butter to your skillet and place in the oven to warm up
In a bowl add flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt and mix
In a larger bowl mix together eggs, milk, butter and vanilla
Add dry ingredients to wet until combined
Pour into skillet and bake for 30 mins or until brown on top
